In recent years, national and International development and construction projects have increased in Thailand and Burma. Some of these projects violate the local population’s right to land and natural resources, through forced displacement and the pollution of water and forests for instance. In this project, Fund for Global Human Rights will support local organizations in protecting and promoting Thai and Burmese communities’ rights to land and natural resources.
Vad ska hända i projektet
Kartläggning av resurs- och landrättigheter i lokalsamhällen, utbildning av byledare, lokala beslutsfattare och byinvånare, samt en regional sammankomst för att dela lärdomar.
Därför fick projektet stöd
En förutsättning för att undvika och minska ekonomisk fattigdom, är att säkerställa att alla har lika möjligheter att äga, kontrollera och bruka mark och naturresurser.
