Project information
Duration of the project
Jul 2017 - Jun 2018
Time status
Focus area
In Malawi, the majority of the population lives on small-scale farming and in great poverty. In One Acre Fund’s project, smallholder farmers in Malawi are given support to help increase their food production, thus reducing hunger and poverty. A program will be implemented in four regions in the country, where participants will gain access to corn and manure as well as receive training to improve their farming methods and increase their harvest. Through this program, farmers also have access to insurance that protects against extreme weather and crop diseases.
What the project delivers
Education programs for small-scale farmers in Malawi.
Why we support this project
