The earth’s climate is changing due to the use of fossil fuels. Transportation accounts for 15% of global greenhouse gas emissions and is an important factor to consider when working against climate change. India is as the third largest emitter of greenhouse gases at a breaking point where few people own cars but the total number of cars is growing rapidly, resulting in increased greenhouse gas emissions, accidents, congestion and harmful pollution. In this project, the Rocky Mountain Institute will identify and support initiatives in order to develop sustainable transport solutions.

What the project delivers

Develop ideas for sustainable transport solutions.

Why we support this project

It is beneficial at a national and global level for India to implement measures to reduce its climate impact.
