The Baltic Sea is the biggest brackish sea in the world with a unique mix of freshwater and saltwater species. It is surrounded by nine countries that are home to some 85 million people. Due to eutrophication, pollution and climate change, the sea is in a poor condition. The unsustainable fishing is threatening entire eco systems, and the livelihoods of many people. In three projects, one in each Baltic country, the organisations Pasaules Dabas Fonds, Lithuanian Fnd for Nature and Estonian Fund for Nature will work for sustainable fishing in the Baltic Sea.

What the projects delivers

Consumer campaigns in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, and advocacy work towards retail and politicians.

Why we support this projects

To increase the public knowledge about sustainable fishing, and to work for behaviour changes, are positive for the entire baltic region.
