Many young people in Uddevalla experience social exclusion and carry personal experiences of racism—often cited as a reason for wanting to leave the city. This is especially true for youth living in the city’s most segregated neighborhoods. They feel that not enough is being done to address racism, that it’s difficult to reach political decision-makers and civil servants, and that trust in these institutions is low.
With this project, MiM Kunskapscentrum aims to strengthen young people’s sense of agency and promote an inclusive civic dialogue in Uddevalla.
The project is part of the Swedish Postcode Lottery Foundation’s initiative “For the Future of Youth”, which supports efforts that improve the prospects of children and youth living in social and economic exclusion – by increasing their sense of agency and their ability to access their rights in society.
