Sweden faces a range of complex challenges, including widening income gaps, social exclusion, rising crime, and inequality. People living in socioeconomically disadvantaged areas are at greater risk of poor school performance, lower educational attainment, and poorer health. In addition to weaker schools and health outcomes, individuals in these communities often have limited access to mentorship and networks—resources that can be crucial for opening doors to new opportunities. A lack of role models and success stories is another challenge many encounter.
Social entrepreneurship plays a vital role in addressing these issues, and it is essential that everyone has the opportunity to help shape solutions for the future. Since 2014, BLING has supported disadvantaged communities through entrepreneurship.

With this project, BLING aims to empower young people in under-resourced areas to take part in solving complex societal challenges by providing access to knowledge, networks, and inspiring role models.

What’s happening in the project?

  • Establish a physical presence in at least two new cities to reach more young people.
  • Identify local stakeholders, build partnerships, and adapt methods to support local entrepreneurship.
  • Carry out marketing activities, including activating ambassadors to engage the target group.
  • Organize inspiration events to promote social entrepreneurship and create spaces for networking and collaboration.
  • Deliver training programs, including coaching sessions, in the new cities.
  • Update and improve the existing training program.

Why is the project supported?

Enabling young people in disadvantaged areas to reach their full potential is key to building inclusive communities where everyone feels they share equal responsibility and opportunity.
