In Senegal, it is estimated that 70% of the rural households, institutions and small businesses rely on traditional and inefficient energy sources for lighting, cooking and other energy needs. Low access to energy has a severe impact on economic development especially in rural areas. In fact, 46% of the Senegalese live below the poverty line. In this project, Energy 4 Impact will strengthen the entrepreneurial capacity and productivity of women engaged in different activities by giving them access to products with renewable energy. These women will also receive different types of trainings to strengthen their businesses.
Vad ska hända i projektet
Utbildning och mentorskap till kvinnliga entreprenörer i Senegal, samt öka tillgång och tillgänglighet på produkter drivna av förnybar energi.
Därför fick projektet stöd
Genom att öka tillgången till energi och ge stöd till kvinnor som driver småföretag ökar projektet möjligheten för kvinnor att lyfta sig själva och sina familjer ur fattigdom och bidrar därmed till en hållbar utveckling.
