Social Entrepreneurship
Bold, forward‑thinking ideas for a better world
We support initiatives led by social entrepreneurs and other actors who contribute to positive social development. Through targeted calls for proposals, we aim to enable social entrepreneurs to take the next step and develop solutions that address some of society’s most pressing challenges.

How we strengthen social entrepreneurs
Meeting today’s complex societal challenges requires new perspectives and more actors who can drive progress. Social entrepreneurs play a vital role in this work.
We have seen the energy that is released when social entrepreneurs are given the right conditions. Ideas are tested, models refined, and solutions are given the opportunity to grow and create impact on a larger scale. Through our project support, we want to make it possible for more social entrepreneurs to take the next step and create tangible, long‑term benefits for society.
Social Entrepreneurship
What is social entrepreneurship?
Social entrepreneurship is about developing solutions to urgent social or environmental challenges through entrepreneurial approaches, with social value as the primary goal.
Social entrepreneurs create products, services, ways of working or methods that offer new, unique or more effective ways of addressing issues that affect many people. They think differently, challenge established structures and are driven by a desire to create solutions that make a real difference.
When can social entrepreneurs apply for support?
Social entrepreneurs can apply for project support through our calls for proposals focused on social entrepreneurship. Each call specifies:
- Who can apply
- The type of solutions we are looking for
- The criteria and conditions
- How the application process works
All current opportunities are listed under Calls for Proposals
What types of project can apply?
Our project support is intended to help social entrepreneurs develop, test or scale solutions with the potential to generate social value.
A project should be a clearly defined step in the development of a model or solution. This might involve:
- Testing an idea on a small scale
- Implementing or further developing an existing model
- Scaling a solution that has already shown results
