Corruption has significant consequences for society as it weakens democratic controls, undermines the integrity of political and economic systems, increases the vulnerability of institutions and states, and erodes the social contract between the state and its citizens.

Civil society organizations play a crucial role in engaging and pressuring public authorities to implement anti-corruption reforms by highlighting and exposing corruption and holding those who abuse power accountable. However, civil society organizations are under pressure in many countries and often lack the capacity to produce the materials and evidence needed for their work.

In this project, Transparency International aims to strengthen the investigative capacity and knowledge of organizations fighting corruption. The goal is for these organizations to be better equipped to gather evidence and documentation that reveal, monitor, and address corruption, thereby effectively combating it.

The project is supported with 2 460 000 SEK.
